Passenger lifts in Bangladesh

Passenger Lift in Bangladesh for Apartments and Commercial Buildings

Planning a new lift or replacing an old one? Tell us how many people use the building, how many floors the lift will serve and what shaft space is available. Those details help narrow the choice before you spend money on a model.

Which passenger lift will fit your building?

A passenger lift moves people between floors. In a six-flat apartment building, the main rush may be in the morning and evening. In an office, dozens of people can arrive at once. The same floor count does not mean the same lift will work well in both places.

First decide how the lift will be used. Then compare rated load, cabin space, door width and travel speed. The shaft and power supply may rule out some options. Colour, mirror and ceiling choices can wait until the layout is right.

If you already have a floor plan, send it with your enquiry. The final equipment size should be set from site measurements and the chosen manufacturer's drawing—not a sample chart alone.

Building use comes first

Think about the rush, not just the floor count

A lift may be almost empty at noon but busy at 9 am. Look at when people enter, leave and travel between floors. That tells you more than a guessed person count.

Apartments Think about the number of flats, school and work times, shopping bags and access for older residents.
Offices Most people may arrive within a short time. A small car or slow door can create a queue in the lobby.
Shops and mixed use Customers and staff may travel at different times. Make sure people can enter and leave without blocking a narrow lobby.
Accessibility Wheelchair access may call for more clear door width, turning space and controls that users can reach.
If people often wait for the lift, do not assume a bigger car is the only fix. Door timing, speed and the number of lifts may also need a look.
Cabin and access

Choose a cabin people can enter and use with ease

Picture a family with a stroller, an older resident with a walking aid or office staff carrying bags. They need a clear doorway and room to stand before they notice the wall finish.

Ask about the door first

Will the opening suit the people who use this building? Is there enough space to enter, turn and stand? Where will the buttons and handrail sit?

Once those answers are settled, choose the flooring, lighting, stainless-steel panels and any mirror. A nice finish cannot make a narrow door wider.

Rated load options

Compare passenger lift capacities

Lift makers list capacity in kilograms. The person count shown beside it is a nominal guide. For example, many catalogues list 630 kg as eight people and 800 kg as ten. The actual cabin and shaft measurements change by model, so do not use the person label as a building plan.

320 kg / 4 person lift A compact rated-load option for sites with low passenger demand.
450–480 kg / 6 person lift May suit a modest building, subject to shaft space and traffic.
630 kg / 8 person lift Compare car size and door opening for routine apartment or office use.
800 kg / 10 person lift Worth comparing with 630 kg when peak use is heavier.
1000 kg / 12 person lift A higher-load option; confirm the model's nominal passenger rating.
1250 kg / 16 person lift For a larger car where the shaft and landing can support it.

Site work and handover

Get the shaft ready before the equipment arrives

A lift cannot be fitted like a cupboard. The building contractor, electrician and lift installer need to work from the same approved drawing. If the pit, overhead space or door opening is wrong, work may stop while the site is changed.

Site survey Measure clear shaft width and depth, pit, headroom, each landing and access for bringing equipment in.
Technical approval Agree on rated load, number of stops, door type, drive system, power needs and final drawings.
Installation Plan guide rails, car, doors, controller and wiring around the approved site layout.
Tests and handover Record tests, demonstrate emergency functions and hand over the operating and service information.
Before you place an order

Settle these points before you sign

A lift proposal should match the building plan. It should also make clear who pays for work outside the equipment supply.

Passenger elevator capacity and space planning for a building

1. Measure the site and agree on power

Measure the finished shaft, not just the opening on an old plan. A machine-room-less (MRL) model still needs the right pit, headroom and access for service. Ask what power supply the selected lift needs.

  • Match on-site measurements to the supplier's final drawing.
  • Confirm the location of lift equipment and safe service access.
  • Plan ventilation for equipment spaces in Bangladesh's hot, humid weather.
  • Ask what happens during a power cut. Emergency rescue and normal generator operation are different needs.

2. Compare what the price actually covers

A lower price may leave out work that you must arrange later. Request an itemised quotation, not just a total beside a lift photo.

  • Exact manufacturer and model, rated load, speed, stops and door type.
  • Cost of delivery, unloading, installation and commissioning.
  • Who handles shaft work, main electrical connection and any changes.
  • Warranty period, exclusions, fault support, maintenance and parts terms in writing.
Budget and quotation

What affects passenger lift price in Bangladesh?

Two lifts with the same rated load can have different prices. One quote may include installation and testing; another may cover equipment only. Model, site conditions and the work split matter more than a headline price.

For a broader buying overview, read the Bangladesh lift price guide.

Capacity and speed Car size, chosen speed and expected traffic help set the motor and control requirements.
Stops and travel Each landing needs a door and related equipment. Travel height also changes the system scope.
Drive and doors Machine-room or MRL layout, control system and door type should be listed by model.
Cabin selection Wall panels, flooring, ceiling lights, handrails and buttons can change the cost.
Site work Unloading, shaft changes, power cables and site access may need separate budgets.
Delivery and support Freight, exchange rate, delivery terms and after-sales coverage affect the amount payable.
Common buyer questions

Passenger lift questions, answered

How do I choose the right passenger lift capacity?

Count the likely users and note the busy times. For a small building, compare a few rated loads against the shaft and door space. A 630 kg and an 800 kg lift may serve different traffic needs. Let the building data and model drawing decide.

What is needed to get a passenger lift price?

Send the location, building type, number of stops and shaft size if you know it. Add a floor plan or shaft photo if available. Say whether this is new work or a replacement. An exact quote may need site measurements.

Can I use the same lift design for an apartment and an office?

Not always. An office often has a sharp morning rush. An apartment may have several smaller busy periods. That difference can change the best car size, speed, door timing and even the number of lifts.

How much shaft space does a passenger elevator need?

It depends on rated load, door style, drive system and the model. The pit and overhead space matter too. A catalogue size is a starting point; use a model-specific drawing and measured shaft for the final decision.

Does a passenger lift need a separate machine room?

Not every model does. A machine-room-less (MRL) lift has no separate machine room, but it still needs suitable shaft space and safe access to its equipment. Compare the manufacturer's MR and MRL layouts before choosing.

What safety items should I ask about?

Look for written details of door protection, interlocks, emergency alarm, brakes, rescue operation and required tests. Ask to see how these are checked at handover. Features depend on the selected model and project rules.

Does the lift quotation include installation and maintenance?

It depends on the offer. Some prices cover equipment only. Have the supplier list transport, installation, commissioning, civil work and power connection as included or excluded. Keep the warranty and maintenance terms in writing.

Have a floor plan? Send it with your lift enquiry.

Tell Dhaka Lift Solutions the location, stops, shaft size and how the building will be used. Even an early-stage plan helps start the right discussion. Final equipment details follow the site review.
